Creating Your Account
Overview
This lesson walks you through the complete OnPitch account creation process, from filling out the registration form to verifying your email address. By the end, you'll have a fully activated OnPitch account ready for setup and customization.
What You'll Need
- A valid email address you can access immediately
- A secure password that meets OnPitch's requirements
- Your chosen username (from the previous lesson)
- Access to your email inbox for verification
Step-by-Step Registration Process
1. Navigate to the Registration Page
Go to the OnPitch registration page at onpitch.io/register
.
What you should see: A clean registration form with the OnPitch logo and a welcoming message:
"You're one step away from connecting on your terms – directly in fans' inboxes and on their phones."
2. Enter Your Email Address
Click in the Email field and enter your email address.
Requirements: Must be a valid email format (example@domain.com).
3. Create Your Password
Click in the Password field and create a secure password.
Password Requirements:
- Minimum 8 characters long
- Must contain at least one uppercase letter (A–Z)
- Must contain at least one lowercase letter (a–z)
- Must contain at least one number (0–9)
- Must contain at least one special character (!@#$%^&*)
What you should see:
- If your password doesn't meet requirements, you'll see:
"Password must be at least 8 characters long and contain uppercase, lowercase, number, and special character." - A strong password shows no error message
Security tip: Use a unique password you don't use for other accounts. Consider a password manager to generate and store a secure password.
4. Enter Your Username
If you didn’t come from the home screen, you’ll see a username field.
What you should see:
- The field shows
onpitch.io/
as a prefix - A placeholder shows "your-name" as an example
- Below the field: "This will be your public profile link (letters, numbers, underscores and hyphens only, 3–30 characters)."
Enter your chosen username from the previous lesson.
Possible error messages:
- "Username already taken." → Try a variation of your desired username
- "Letters, numbers, underscores, or hyphens only, 3–30 characters." → Adjust your username to meet the requirements
5. Accept Terms and Conditions
Check the box next to:
"By registering, I accept the terms and conditions."
6. Submit Your Registration
Click the Sign Up button to create your account.
7. Registration Success
After successful registration, you'll see a green success message:
"Account created successfully. Please check your email (including your spam or junk folder) to verify your account."
What happens next: OnPitch sends a verification email to the address you provided.
Email Verification Process
1. Check Your Email
Look for an email from OnPitch in your inbox. The subject line will be related to account verification.
If you don't see it:
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Wait a few minutes — emails can sometimes be delayed
- Make sure you entered your email address correctly
2. Click the Verification Link
Open the email and click the verification link.
What you should see:
The link takes you to a confirmation page on OnPitch, and your account becomes fully activated.
Security note: Verification links expire after a certain time. If it’s expired, you can request a new one.
3. Account Activated
Once verified, your account is ready to use.
What you should see: You'll be redirected to the OnPitch dashboard or guided setup process.
Common Registration Issues and Solutions
Email Already in Use
Error message: "An account with this email already exists. Please sign in or reset your password."
Solution:
- If you remember having an account, use the Sign In link
- If you forgot your password, use Forgot Password - Double-check for typos if you’re sure you don’t have an account
Rate Limiting
Error message: "Please wait a minute before trying again."
Solution: This is a security feature. Wait about a minute and try again.
Username Conflicts
Error message: "Username already taken."
Solution: Refer back to the username selection strategies in the previous lesson and try a variation.
Email Verification Issues
Problem: Verification email doesn’t arrive
Solutions:
- Check spam/junk folders
- Wait 5–10 minutes for delivery
- Request a new verification email
- Contact OnPitch support if the issue persists

Protect Your Account
- Never share your login credentials
- Use a strong, unique password
- Keep your email account secure
- Log out from shared devices
Account Recovery
- Your email address is needed for password resets — don’t lose access
- Keep your email account secure and backed up
- Enable two-factor authentication if available
