Understanding Default Segments

OnPitch automatically creates several segments for every account to help you organize and target your communications effectively.

Notification Preference Segments

Based on subscriber choices during signup:

  • All notifications: Subscribers who want to receive all types of messages
  • Event notifications only: Fans interested mainly in show announcements
  • Release updates: Fans who want news about new releases and content
  • Merch updates: Fans interested in new merch announcements

What you should see: During message composition, you can target preference groups to ensure relevant content reaches the right subscribers.

Requesting Custom Segments

While OnPitch provides comprehensive default segmentation, you may want additional custom segments for specific needs.

When to Request Custom Segments

Consider custom segments if you need to organize subscribers by:

  • Music genres: Different styles or projects
  • Fan engagement level: Highly engaged vs. casual followers
  • Purchase history: Fans who bought merch or tickets

  1. Describe your use case: How you want to organize subscribers
